We would like to acknowledge the original inhabitants of the land on which we live. Sequoyah county has a long history and many indigenous peoples have called, and still call, this place home, including the Spiro Mounds people, the Osage, and the Cherokee after being forced to relocate from their eastern homelands. We strive to honor them through responsible stewardship of the land as well as through appreciating the long connection they've had with the land and the vast knowledge they've developed and that we continue to benefit from.
